The First Ten Amendments are known as
The Bill of Rights and went into effect
when the Constitution was ratified.
1 Freedom of religion, speech, press,
assembly and petition.
2 Right to keep and bear arms.
3 No quartering of soldiers.
4 Restriction of search and seizure.
5 No double jeopardy, self-incrimination
or seizure of private property.
6 Right to speedy trial, witnesses & counsel.
7 Right to Trial by jury.
8 No excessive bails, fines, or cruel and
unusual punishment.
9 There are addt'l rights to which people are
entitled which are not mentioned in Const.
